Kishore Kumar was one of the greatest  Indian singers who became immortal 
with the numerous beautiful songs he rendered.The richness,sweetness,power and the charm of his voice was unique.The multifaceted talent proved his qualities as a Singer,actor,film director,music composer,song writer,story writer,script writer,screenplay writer and produced films also.He sang all types of songs-classical,melody etc with equal brilliancy and amazed the listeners.He was not a trained singer yet he could render songs with emotive expressions as  required by the composers at the best level.He was equally best as an actor and the viewers loved him so much when he portrayed roles with a comedy touch.He was a fun loving personality who spread positive energy which inspired others and was always very active in diversified fields with top energy levels.
He loved to be a singer more than an actor.
Kishore Kumar was born as 'Abhas Kumar Ganguly' in a Bengali family as the youngest of the three brothers and one sister at Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh.
The eldest brother Ashok Kumar, became popular actor in Hindi films and the other two brothers came to Bombay to work in films.Kishore Kumar got chance to sing in chorus and wanted to earn name and fame as a playback singer while he got chance to act in a film 'Shikari' in 1946.He acted because of the compulsion from producers who all thought the brother of Ashok Kumar would be able to act and their expectations were proved to be correct.
He sang solo song for the first time for Dev Anand in 1948 for the film 'Ziddi' 
'Marne Ki duayan kyu maangu' under music composition by Khemchand Prakash.He thus became an actor who thrilled the audience with his charisma,emotive actions,funny characters and also amazed the listeners with powerful yet soft and soothing voice.His ability to convicingly communicate emotion through his energy filled powerful voice was exceptionally unique and great.
As an actor he acted in more than 90 films and but always gave priority to singing.He acted as hero in the film 'Aandolan' in 1951 directed by Phani Majumdar which impressed the viewers.He starred in Bimal Roy's Naukri in 1954 and  Hrishikesh Mukherjee's directorial debut 'Musafir' in 1957.Some other famous films in which he starred includes 'New Delhi,Aasha(57),Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi(58),Half Ticket(62),Padosan(68) etc.
In Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi which was his home production, all the three Ganguly brothers acted and Madhubala was the heroine as a city girl who has romance with a car mechanic.

He sang 2703 songs in 1188 films mostly in Hindi and also in Bengali,Marathi,Assamese,Gujarati,Kannada,Telugu,Malayalam,Bhojpuri,Oriya and Urdu languages.
He sang songs along with other great singers like Mohd. Rafi,Mukesh,Manna Dey,S.P.Balasubramanyam,Anwar,Pankaj Udhas etc.
He sang large number of duets with Lata Mangeshkar.
He produced 14 films and wrote story for three films.He wrote screenplay for five films.He directed 12 films.He composed music for all of his home productions.

No one could ever able to match his unique voice and style and the quality of his versatile, emotive singing.
He left this world  at the age of 58 on 13th October 1987 in Mumbai but still 
inspires and entertains the masses with his fond memories and lovely voice.
