Kozhikode Santhadevi was an extraordinary talented artiste who gave life to numerous characters on stage and on screen for a career span of more than 55 years.She was born in Kozhikode in 1927 and entered theatre with the encouragement from her husband Kozhikode Abdul Khader, a well renowned playback singer.

For the role in film 'Yamanam' directed by 'Bharat Gopi' she got National Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992.
She won Kerala Film critic's Association Award in 1979.
She received Kerala Government Best Actress Award for Plays in 1983 for the
play 'Deepasthambham Mahascharyam'.
She was recipient of the Best Actress Award for Plays by Kerala Government in the year 1968 and 1973 also.
Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award for Best Actress was given to her in 1978.
Her last film was 'Kerala Cafe' which contained 10 short films.She acted in one of them as an ailing mother who was abandoned by her son.
Kozhikode Santhadevi left this world on 20 November 2010.
